The IQ gain in children measured by the WISC-III and the WISC-IV was 2.45 IQ points per decade over the years 1997-2007. The IQ gain in adults measured by the WAIS-III showed a smaller increase of 0.55 IQ points per decade over the years 2001-2011. In both studies the greatest gains were made on the visual-spatial abilities, with smaller gains on reasoning and the smallest gains on verbal abilities.
