Abstract:	近三十年來宗教的全球化速度與規模，已經超過以往300年的累積，成為建構現代社會生活方式與價值溝通的重要途徑。傳統以政治拓展的區域接觸，繫於軍事、交通、商業、文化、語言、思想風潮等資源競爭，相較目前瞬息萬變的傳媒科技、資本主義取向的消費文化，以及傳統家庭、區域、國家疆域的重組，使得全球化成為多元雙向進行。應對之下，素有文化傳承者的宗教－－不論制度性宗教或新興宗教運動，也隨著人群移動與社會重組，發展出來更多層次的宗教性(religiosity)論述與實踐方式。影響所及，傳統的宗教經典甚至詮釋理論都轉向全球化此一大脈絡；跨區域與虛擬社群更緊密、充滿互動張力的接觸，使得目前的宗教理論與現象研究，更加複雜。本計畫將以十個主題蒐集書目:宗教與科學、心理學與醫學、經濟學、傳媒文化、生態學、政治學、人口移動、區域研究、全球化理論領域的互動,以及宗教研究的全球化視野。依此主題蒐集的西文圖書，範圍不限於單一世界宗教的全球性或特定區域的發展。收集之圖書將提升國內研究的新議題與國際學界接軌，提供國內學者研究與教學發展的重要基礎。
