    Abstract: 過去文獻從行為財務學的觀點來探討個別投資人的交易行為與績效，他們發現，個人投資人的交易績效低於市場的平均報酬，而且交易次數愈高的個別投資人，其交易績效愈差，支持投資人過度自信假說。本研究提出不同的假說，認為個別投資人之績效不佳之現象，主要原因在於交易太多種類的股票。對於個別投資人而言，由於其資訊的劣勢，短期之內交易太多種不同的股票，將不利於學習以及資訊的蒐集，造成投資績效不佳。本研究透過適當的研究設計，來觀察個別投資人的擇股以及擇時能力，以提出個別投資人投資績效不佳的解釋。
