    Abstract: 《道的錯置——中國政治思想的根本困結》這本書可以說是林安梧教授二十餘年來思索中國文化傳統的心得累積。“道的錯置”（“MisplacedTao”）一詞的構成則是作者受到懷特海（ANWhitehead）在《科學與現代世界》（ScienceandtheModernWorld）一書中所討論的“具體性的錯置”（“Misplacedconcreteness”）的啟發而提出的概念。懷德海所謂的“具體性錯置之謬誤”（“FallacyofMisplacedConcreteness”）,指的是吾人把自己的抽象概念誤認為具體實在的偶然錯誤。對比於此,作者先是提出“時間性的道的錯置”,它指的是：在歷史上表現為歷史復古論及歷史退化論,亦即認為越古老的世代越接近於道越是一理想的世代。“道的錯置”表現在政治上,則為專制極權,此乃一種“結構性的道的錯置”,這是一種誤以為在政治制度結構中越高的階層越接近於道的現象,以致將君主或國君視為道在人間世的化身。
