Title:	What Do They Say About ";Friends";?

Abstract:	The article provides an abstract that focuses on the use of Internet bulletin boards and discussion groups to discuss imported television programs. The authors focus on the discussion related to the American television program "Friends" on Internet bulletin board sites in the U.S., Japan, and Taiwan. Content analysis research was conducted to examine the different ways that viewers in the three countries discussed each episode of "Friends." The researchers found that the discussion reflected that participants were actively engaged in reacting to the programs. The authors offer the idea that this research offers insight in the complexity of globalization.
