Title:	再現或超越霸權：論霸權研究的旨趣

Abstract:	霸權是國際關係理論與實務研究的重要一環，一九七○年代興起的霸權穩定論、八○的後霸權研究到九○年代的制度霸權或柔性權力等，都是引領時代的重要國際關係理論。然而，跨國的歷史唯物論(transnational historical materialism)與上述霸權研究進行著一場較不引人注目的霸權研究對話，例如跨國歷史唯物論明確回應霸權穩定論的三個論題：一為霸權國的內涵和提供國際公共財的關係，其二是搭便車者(free-rider)會毀損霸權國權力的熵(entropy)論題，其三為霸權衰退之後的相關論題。本文將追尋一九七○年代後的霸權研究，與跨國歷史唯物論之間的對話，理解兩大理論群是如何探討霸權和歷史的關係，與所呈現的不同研究內涵：是要控制、理解或解放所研究的對象（霸權），並探討雙方是如何再現和超越霸權對人類世界的影響。特別是當前如火如荼展開的全球化時代，我們不僅要關心全球化現象，更要關切全球化的推動者和背後的意識形態，若能在爬梳霸權研究之間的對話和理路的背景下，探討迄今的霸權研究脈絡，將更以更寬廣的視角觀察霸權和全球化的連結。
