    Title: 新聞專業性概念結構與觀察指標之研究

    Abstract: 專業性（professionalism）的概念在二十世紀是新聞傳播研究的一項重要核心概念。但經過近一世紀的探討與研究，新聞專業性之研究仍存在著前提性之爭議、概念應用之混亂、研究主體之混淆以及研究工具之不足等問題。面對這些研究上的基本問題與需要，本研究嘗試從文獻資料與實徵資料兩方面，來釐清新聞專業性之概念結構與觀察指標。
    本研究匯集過去社會學專業研究之三大取向：特質論取向、權力取向及現象學取向等研究取向之特長，進行實徵資料與文獻資料之蒐集與詮釋，結果得知新聞專業性概念是由專業倫理與專業知能兩大核心概念所組成，而在專業倫理中又包含專業自主與社會責任兩大面向。
    此外，本研究發現新聞專業性雖然有一清楚的概念結構，但其實證指標卻依不同的實踐主體而有不同的表現方式。而新聞專業性的實踐，實有賴三大主體之共同實踐：其一為新聞行業，實踐方式乃需規範體制、財務體制、生產體制及教育體制皆有合理與健全的條件與狀態；其二是媒體組織，新聞專業性之實踐乃表現在媒體組織中之相關管理制度與措施；其三是新聞從業人員，新聞專業性則表現在其對新聞工作之專業信念上。並且此新聞專業性的三大實踐主體間存在著微妙的互動關係。
