Abstract:	西元一○七一年八月二十六日，塞爾柱蘇丹阿斯朗，和拜占庭皇帝狄奧傑斯，在小亞細亞東部的馬拉茲吉特①，展開一場大會戰，結果塞爾柱大獲全勝，一舉殲滅了拜占庭十萬大軍，並俘擄拜占庭皇帝，暨許多將領。馬拉茲吉特戰役，在土耳其歷史上，佔有極其重要的地位。它不但為土耳其人拓展了一塊新領域，而且也掀開了一頁新歷史。因為土耳其人自馬拉茲吉特大捷之後，在極短時間內，即佔有整個小亞細亞，奠定了今日土耳其的基礎；而狹義的土耳其歷史，則是從小亞細亞之征服開始，一直持續到二十世紀的今天。馬拉茲吉特大會戰，由塞爾柱帝國經營小亞細亞而引起。原屬西突厥的歐烏斯族，不但是塞爾柱帝國的創建者，而且也是侵略小亞細亞的先鋒。為了更易於說明土耳其人征服小亞細亞與馬拉茲吉特大會戰的前因後果，本文將先從士耳其的歐烏斯族開始敘述。
