    Abstract: 文明社會利用文字，數字以及各種特定符號來作為互相交換或係存信息之有形媒介，已有
    　極長之歷史。自動化整理、分析、歸檔、搜查、編集以及核算此鉅量累積之資料，遂隨需
    　要而變成必然之趨勢。近代電子計算機的出現及配合信息學、統計學之科學方法，使此孕
    　育於百餘年前之構想迎刃而解，成為事實。
    　本文主要在討論自動化處理中文信息時，吾人或將遭遇之難題，可採用之途徑，以及所應
    　努力之方向，因恐國內對有關文獻不易覓得。凡有關知識、可使用機器等，均於文內酌予
    　介紹或圖示，以使讀者僅由本文即可課得通盤瞭解而毋須猜臆想像。相關應用則或僅提出
    　。或簡介。
    　陶氏中文電腦字母之組成、使用、應用及與其他中文索引順序法之比較。均有簡介討論。
    　利用，電腦對中英文自動機械化翻譯以及其他若干在中文上之應用：亦作廣泛之討論。
