Title:	明代廠衛之研究

Abstract:	論文提要本文是一篇屬於政治科學範疇的研究論文，筆者企圖運用中國明代的歷史資料，建構一個有關政治穩定的研究模型，整篇論文的架構是這樣的：第一章緒論，主要是提出迫求權力的理性人假定，以及政治穩定的假設與模型，附帶的，筆者也表達了傾向於政治科學的研究態度。第二章所要說明的是廠衛制度以外的環境因素，明代所謂的絕對君主專制，正是廠衛權力的基礎所在，而法家與儒家的思想背景，則分別透過君主與臣屬（主要是外庭臣屬的官僚們），針對廠衛存在與否的焦點，展開了長久的意識型態衝突。第三章是介紹廠衛本身的制度結構，從史料的敘述當中，我們也可以看出來，廠衛的組織有膨脹的病態，廠衛的領導有寡頭的趨勢，但最重要的還是，廠衛的權力呈現了集中與擴大的跡象。第四章緊接著探討廠衛權力對於周圍環境所造成的影響，廠衛兼顧採取了合作與衝突兩種不同形式的策略運作，對於君主潛在的頭號對手--官僚體制，極盡其破壞的作用，終於使得明代在無力應付內憂外患的情況下衰微崩潰。第五章結論，則是以功能分析（functional analysis）來肯定這個由明代廠衛史實所建構起來的政治穩定模型，並且也做了必要的補充修正。
