Abstract:	學術隨世風而易。清乾嘉至道咸之際，在學術風氣上有一劇變。在此之前，即吾人所謂乾嘉專門漢學，治經專尚考覈，所重是純學術的研究。在此之後，學風一轉而至，治經重取大義以期經世，尤以今文公羊學的興起，流衍所至，儼然或為晚清學術之主流。本文所探討之人物—龔定菴即生在此一關鍵，又兼有文字音韻之家學，及常州今文公羊之師承，定菴是如何與一取舍貫通，並建一己之思想體系，而為道咸以降開一風氣，是本論文探討之主題。本文共分五章，首章述定菴生平及其思想背景。次章述定菴對乾嘉學的批評，及己身治經態度的轉變。三章述定菴尊史思想要點，及其經史學貫通後所建立之經世思想。四章述公羊學在定菴經世思想中所居之地位，及其公羊學在常州學的發展上所居的地位。五章述定菴經世思想之貝體表現。尤以對專制君權的譏詆及經濟思想最富時代精神。
