    Abstract: 茲篇所譔，權分七章。首章緒論，先就歷代詞話，略予檢討，平其得失。次述王氏所以撰作人間詞話之背景，再者人間詞話版本雖無可論，然通行本卷數不一；且考王氏以人間名篇，與夫自定稿之編次，若有所藉因并論之。
    二章論作者。蓋讀其書不可不知其人，故述其生平時代，探其性情思想，然後凡王氏之持論之自負，評騭之苛刻，莫不有原可尋矣。而其眷顧清室，遯乎自湛之故，亦可昭然若揭也。又王氏治學甚勤，著作頗豐，特列一節臚述，俾見其才學之一斑。
    三章考其評論之觀點，蓋觀點不明，不知其立論之根據，且於茲篇所述，亦不足相互發明印證。世之學者，多昧乎此，故不免隔靴搔癢之憾也，餘因獨立一章以闡明之。
    四章境界論。境界者乃王氏詞論之中心，而評騭之準則也。世之論者雖夥，惜殊少中肯。餘故就其觀點而詳析之，冀境界之涵義，得以章明，用弭俗說之紛紜。并論其主恉，庶識其所以鑒衡之獨到。
    五章境界說之餘論。一曰創作論，究其論隔不隔、代字隸事、寄託、氣格、聲韻之大要。二曰文體論，述其文體之演進觀，與對詞體形式之見解，及詞體時代之劃分。三曰詩人之涵養論，闡其論才，論詩人於自然人生之態度，以及論品格胸襟之大略。要之，凡所論述，皆不出境界說之主恉也。
    六章評騭，乃王氏境界之運用也。自唐五代以迄遜清，依王氏之意，歸分四期，據其論點，探究王氏於各期詞人所以藏否之故焉。
    七章總論。蓋王氏歿後，其書大行，故略論其價值與影響，并摘其可議者數處，用為玆篇之終結云。
