    Abstract: 本書是繼一九九二年Osborne 與Gaebler 出版之《政府再造》（Reinventing Government）一書，倡導「新公共管理」、「企業型政府」、「顧客型導向」等公共管理觀念，引發國際公共行政與管理學術界暨實務界熱烈討論以來，一本理論新穎、案例豐富、實證力強且有助於提升政府委外經營績效評量與政府計劃執行成效的書籍。\
    本書評將以三部份論之，首先評述該書之重要章節內容；其次闡述該書所呈現之重要意涵；最後揭示該書之理論與實證研究發現，對台灣政府治理過程中績效評量的重要啟示與意義。本書理論建構嚴謹，案例論述清晰且具啟發性，值得公共行政與管理學等相關專業領域之學生、學者與實踐者研讀。對於台灣中央政府所屬各部門之績效管理者而言，更是本值得詳讀及參考的專書。
