Other Titles: Reading Process in Reversible Chinese Words
    Authors:
    Keywords:

Reversible words are words which can be read either from left to right vice versa. In this study, the reading process of reversible words was investigated by a naming task. The orthographical similarity and phonological identity between the primer and the target were manipulated. The stimulus onset asynchrony (SOA) was also manipulated in two experiments. The results from this study showed that the naming speed of the words with low reversibility was faster than that of the words with high reversibility. The results also showed that the orthographyical similarity effect depended on the SOA and the reversibility of the target words. The reading process of reversible words was discussed based on the above results.
