教育績效評鑑是一重要且困難的任務，但是藉由有效且定期評估，不但可了解本身在教育資源投入與成果產出間的合理性，進而促使資源有效分配，以及改善整體經營效率。本研究結合國際認可之 TIMSS-R 架構與社會科學普遍使用之 DEA 分析法評估臺灣地區南、北區域之國民中學經營效率，研究結果顯示，臺灣地區南北區域之國民中學經營效率，並不因所屬地區而有差異。 Evaluating the performance of an educational system is an important but difficult to accomplish task. Despite the difficulties involved, school performance evaluate can be used to set performance targets, to make resource allocation decisions, and to improve overall school efficiency. It is important to know whether schools are actually utilizing their resources in the most effficient way to produce the observed rankings. In addition, it is also important to provide guidelines on how schools can improve further. This study combined both the non-parametric methodology of data envelopment analysis (DEA) and Third International Mathematics and Science Study-Repeat (TIMSS-R) to evaluate the junior high schools in Taiwan. Empirical findings based on an approach to estimate efficiency environmental effects suggest that no efficiency differences exist between schools operating in northern area compared to those operating in southern area.
