Abstract:	在此家庭變遷之際，就業婦女的增加與離婚的增加是否有關係呢？本文的目的在以經驗資料探究這一間題。資料顯示，就業婦女比例與家庭主婦比例對離婚率有負影響，即就業婦女或家庭主婦的增加沒有造成離婚的增加，反而有利家庭的穩定。資料也顯示，這一關係因家庭生命週期、婦女職業特徵與地區都市化程度而異。都市年輕婦女就業與離婚有正相關，而鄉村年輕婦女就業與離婚有負相關；中年婦女就業與離婚有負相關，且關係隨著年齡的增加而越強烈。婦女從事於生產業、運輸操作業及體力工作，與離婚有負相關，而從事買賣業與離婚有正相關。總之，就業婦女，像家庭主婦一樣，可以促進家庭穩定，也可能導致家庭分裂，但那一結果的發生，端賴家庭婚姻關係對家庭生命週期、婦女職業性質與地區都市程度所產生之新需要的調適反應。
