Abstract:	王思任，字季重，號遂東，明末浙江山陰人。少年狂放，以謔浪忤人，仕宦不顯，為令尹，三仕三黜。逮魯王監國，上書太后請斬馬士英，並為檄討之。中有「吾越乃報仇雪恥之國，非藏垢納污之區也」之語，傳誦一時。南明紹興失守之後，自構草亭，顏曰「孤竹菴」，絕粒十日殉國。其一腔忠義之氣，不在文貞之下，後世僅以能文目之，失之遠矣！孟子嘗言「誦其詩，讀其書，不知其人，可乎」？吾人欲知人論世，必先知其人生平行事。今特詳述王氏一生事蹟，作成年譜，以就正於先進。
