    Abstract: 本文從蘇非哲學的歷史演變及學說內容著手，並與世界其他宗派之玄秘學做比較，嘗試闡明玄秘哲學之普遍性(universality)的特徵，也為蘇非哲學尋求其在比較宗教學與宗教哲學領域中應得的評價與定位。餘論中則簡述其對中國伊斯蘭教與玄秘哲學的影響，勾劃出其歷史上與理論上之傳承與演變的軌跡。在理論方法及材料選擇上有下列四項限制：（一）理輪上兼採眾說，然仍以西方與中國非伊斯蘭教徒之研究成果為主要依據，不代表伊斯蘭教徒之神學觀點與價值觀；（二）材料之取捨，盡可能以中世紀蘇非哲學家之著作為主，不及於其近代、現代之發展（中國部份例外）；（三）方法上盡可能列舉原著（原文或譯文）中內容相關之引文，僅進行哲學與語意的詮釋；（四）以伊斯蘭興起後已「阿拉伯化」或「伊斯蘭化」之玄秘哲學的研究為限，不深入探討其所受外來影響與傳承關係等問題。
