Title:	Rhetorical or Existential: A Deconstructive Reading of the Questionable Questions in John Donne`s Holy Sonnets

Abstract:	本論文嘗試結合解構主義文學批評理論、存在主義有神論觀點以及語言哲學，以細讀強登(JOHN DONNE)的數首宗教詩作，剖析其語言修辭所透露的信仰訊息及其匱缺，兼而探討宗教語言的修辭特色與「非修辭」特性。本文首章闡明所持解構主義立場；次章建立閱讀策略；第三、四、五章分別細讀強登的三首宗教十四行詩，指出其修辭隱指之信仰矛盾處及其不安之源，並披露語言在面對信仰時之不足；第六章自其它詩人之宗教詩作回觀強登詩中所面對的修辭困境；第七章再度重新檢視宗教詩普通所受的侷限與語言／信仰困境；第八章自詩人的其它作品中謀求解決之道，並融通第二章所建立之閱讀策略；終章除回應首章外，並自行坦承本文之「自我解構」處以為附筆，以忠實地呈現作者在研究本文主題時在語言與信仰方面之所獲。
