    Abstract: 透過文獻研究及內容分析,本研究發現報紙副刊內容,有四項重要傳統,即內容隨時代而有不同導向;儘管內容時有變革,然仍以文學文藝為主要內容;副刊第二項受到重視內容,即評論性文字與消息;副刊風格之建立,主編是一個重要因素。我們用新聞學理論來解讀這四個傳統,發現解釋力頗強,建議能力也頗值重視。九項新聞學理,包括政經影響、文化霸權、使用與滿足、社會期待、議題設定、沉默螺旋、知識差距、守門人、以及新事物擴散理論等,對於副刊理論的建構,皆有一定的貢獻。
