    摘要: 本文擇要討論國內金融制度對國勢、進而對國際競爭的影響。又因為金融制度在宏觀上和政治制度相關，在微觀上和金融市場裡的參與者相關，本文亦將討論金融制度發軔時期和政治制度的關聯性，以及金融市場的形成。這些討論的意義不僅只限於經濟或政治史，它也有現代的意義。例如1997年發生的亞洲金融危機，涉及範圍包括金融體系、東亞國家賴以發展的新重商主義、公司治理以及亞洲國際局勢的競逐。
    This paper probes the impact of financial systems on national power and international competition. This paper will also explore the relationship between financial and political systems and participants (mainly companies) in the financial market. The scope of the examination is limited to the inceptive stage of a modem financial system, which coincided with the early stage of nation-state formation. The findings of this study have wider implications than the historical emphasis suggests. The findings, for example, also apply to the situation during the 1997 Asian financial crisis.
