Abstract:	牟潤孫，原名傳楷，字潤孫，後以字行。生於北京，祖籍山東省福山縣。一九二九年考入燕京大學國學研究所，一九三二年畢業。指導老師為陳垣及顧頡剛，復從柯劭忞受經史之學。牟潤孫的學問主要表現在經學與史學兩方面，其經學傳承自柯紹忞，史學則主要師承於柯劭忞與陳垣。柯紹忞和陳垣對其學術具有最直接、最重要的摶塑力量。牟潤孫生前曾有所謂「南來之學」之說，其南來之學的概念，雖然主要指的是將陳垣的學術傳播至南方，但也包括其終生禮敬，於師承淵源未嘗一日或忘的柯忞劭，所謂「蓼園之學也南來」。惟獨其與顧頡剛的關係頗令人好奇，從現今留存的相關記述中似可看到二人間時有不諧甚或齟齬緊張的狀況，牟潤孫後來甚至疏離顧門而完全投入陳垣勵耘書屋門下。本文先從分析牟潤孫經、史兼具的學術面向及其學術淵源入手，再進一步深入探討牟氏與陳垣和顧頡剛之間微妙的師門關係與學術關聯。從一開始的學問的不契，再加上個性的不同與做事態度的差異，最終發展至二人師生關係的不諧，因而使牟潤孫陷入「身在顧門，心在勵耘書屋」的尷尬處境，甚至形同「破顧門」、「入陳室」的情況。
