Abstract:	孟樊在大作《台灣文學輕批評》中提出，八○年代以後，文化評論（論述）儼然成爲一種重要的、引人注意的文類（頁49），並分析台灣在後結構主義尚未流行起來以前，評論或論述文章不被認爲是一種創作，頂多是一種「後設的創作」，無法與詩、小說、散文相提並論；然而八○年代以降，情勢代轉，它已逐漸走出昔日文學附庸的地位，蔚爲大宗。作爲一位「文化評論家」與「趨勢預言家」（瘂弦語），孟樊認爲「由於文化評論或文化論述的重要性與日俱增，相形之下，文學（創作）的份量似乎有越來越輕之勢」，而這是目前所見的「最大的負面影響」，「文學的衰退，似和文化論述的受到倚重有連帶關係」。孟樊的論點，大致獲得瘂弦、李瑞騰先生的認同與呼應。①本文想就以上這段宣示，重新作一番檢視與釐清，先梳理其中糾葛的相關問題，再解決所謂「文化評論」或「文化論述」的文類隸屬問題。
