Title:	醫療文化中心主義的對抗與悲劇：論安·法第曼的非小說《黎亞：從醫病衝突到跨文化誤解的傷害》 Medical Ethnocentric Confrontation and Tragedy in Anne Fadiman’s The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down

Abstract:	美國當代作家安·法第曼（AnneFadiman,1953-）的《黎亞：從醫病衝突到跨文化誤解的傷害》（TheSpiritCatchesYouandYouFallDown:AHmongChild, HerAmericanDoctors,andtheCollisionofTwoCultures）被廣泛作為美國醫學院課程的反面案例——因醫生與患者家屬之間跨文化溝通失敗而導致的悲劇。已有研究對該作品涉及的文化衝突、醫學教育、民族誌、醫病關係等問題的論述中尚缺乏對美國亞洲裔少數族群文化，尤其是「附魔」文化的深度考量。本文通過運用福柯的話語權力理論解讀文本，以苗族兒童黎亞的「惡魔附身」醫療景觀為例，分析比較了西方醫學體系與苗族醫學體系的異同，並進一步指出黎亞的悲劇是兩種醫療的文化中心主義互不相讓且互相攻擊的必然結果。苗族社群對黎亞的「惡魔附身」狀態的認知，與西醫診斷的雷葛氏症候群癲癇病屬於完全不同的話語體系。西醫成為了國家權威的象徵，苗族對權威的不信任與對抗使得一方任何形式的溝通都被另一方理解為一種強行介入與干預，進而揭示了在權力不對等的情況下文化相對性的不可能。
