This study explores the ambiguous position when one witnessing the pain of others on social media platforms. This study borrows Gilpin et al ‘s model of ‘socially mediated authenticity’ to argue that the authenticity from four dimensions including authority, identity, transparency, and engagement makes us go beyond from trauma witnessing to trauma engaging.
