The research tradition of narrative structure of news has been growing in the past 30 years or so, and it’s the purpose of this paper to provide a theoretical review about how this tradition has been started and how it will go further. The paper first traces the theory of narrative and uses it as a foundation to briefly review the news writing structure as so-called “the pyramid model.” Next the paper also seeks to introduce different structure models of in TV news reportage. The final section then discusses a couple new narrative models of internet news writing.
