Cancer remains the top cause of death in Taiwan for the 38th year in a row, having claimed more than 50,000 lives in 2019. However, with the rapid development and improvement of medication and treatment, the survival rates of cancer has improved year by year which cause cancer gradually moving towards the development as "chronic disease". Hence the goal of cancer patient treatment is not only prolonging the survival but also pursuing the enhancement of quality of life.
Various of factors directly impact the treatment implement as well as outcome of cancer patients. Nutrition is a critical but easily neglected factor. Providing the most appropriate nutritional supplement to deal with the patient’s physical condition for optimizing the treatment continuance and outcome become a extremely important issue.
Through this research we analyze the current market and competition of cancer survivor nutritional caring service industry in Taiwan and further evaluate the business model of existing service providers. The suggestions for business model optimization and business expansion are recommended for consideration.
