Abstract: Both delay and bandwidth are the crucial node state information considered in QoS routing schemes for multimedia applications in mobile Ad Hoc networks. In this paper, we propose an application-aware QoS routing scheme for multimedia applications in mobile Ad Hoc networks. In our scheme, the real time control protocol (RTCP) is used to estimate the node state instead of the additional probing messages, and an optimally stable route can be established according to QoS requirements of the multimedia application based on the node state information. It has been shown that the routing performance is improved significantly compared to the existing schemes using the additional probing messages.
