    Abstract: 印尼首都雅加達今年七月爆發了蘇哈托新秩序政府成立以來最嚴重的暴動事件。這次不幸事件主要是由於印尼民主黨不滿政府對該黨進行分化而引起。印尼民主黨為印尼現有兩大反對黨之一。今年六月該黨部分黨員臨時召開黨員大會並推舉該黨前任主席蘇雅迪(Suryadi)為黨魁,以取代現任黨主席梅嘉娃蒂(Megawati Sukarnoputri)女士,惟因梅氏任期至一九九八年才屆滿,改選黨主席之舉動不僅引發內部分裂而且形成了印尼近來最嚴重的政治衝突事件。 表面而言,這次警民流血衝突事件因印尼民主黨內部權利鬥爭所引起,然而整個事件也凸顯了印尼在獲得持續經濟成長期間所面臨的民主化的困境。本文主要探討印尼民主化發展所遭遇的阻力及展望民主化的前景。
