    Abstract: 針對一個多重檢定問題,則推論中型一誤差發生的可能性將嚴重地膨脹。此時應當改而考慮能適當控制『族型一誤差率』(family-wise error rate, FWE)的多重檢定方法(multiple testing procedure, MCP)。但是此種多重檢定方法,多以較保守的調整方法,來適當的控制『族型一誤差率』。隨著假設的個數增多,此種檢定方法又趨向於過度保守,例如在一組由微陣列實驗(microarray experiment)中產生出來的cDNA晶片資料,欲檢測出有差異表現性的基因(differentially expressive genes),則此時的假設個數—即晶片上的基因個數—通常為數千或上萬,則一般的多重檢定方法將太過保守,導致檢定力(power)過低,難以得到顯著結果。若真實虛無假設的個數已知時,則除了可增進研究人員對資料的瞭解,提供另一種資訊外,進一步的,也將可用來改善傳統的多重檢定方法。此計畫將考慮以最大概似估計量來推估此未知的個數。透過電腦模擬,除了與其他目前的方法來作比較外,也將調查此最大概似估計法對分佈假設的穩健性(robustness),最終也將此法應用於一組實際的微陣列基因資料。
