Greening is a very efficient method which can not only provide fresh air but also decrease air temperature in urban area. Green roofs, parks and boulevards have the potential to improve the thermal environment in city through shading, insulation, evapotranspiration and thermal mass, thus reducing a building`s energy demand for space conditioning. For comprehending the thermal benefit of urban greening, the temperature and relative humidity data will be taken by several fix stations in some green roofs, urban parks and boulevards. In this two years project, the cooling effect of these three kinds of urban greenings will be calculated by the analysis of the relationship between temperature and greening level data. The results of this research will be the important reference for the government when promoting urban greening to improve urban warming and heat island effect in the future. The process of this project is as below: (1) Setting stations, instrument shelters and sensors for measuring temperature and humidity data in green roofs and urban parks. (2) Collecting temperature and relative humidity data of green roofs and urban parks. (3) Analyzing the thermal benefit of green roofs and urban parks for mitigating urban warming and reducing urban heat island effect. (4) Setting stations, instrument shelters and sensors for measuring temperature and humidity data in boulevards. (second year) (5) Analyzing the thermal benefit of boulevards for mitigating urban warming and reducing urban heat island effect. (second year) (6) Summarizing the total cooling effect of green roof, urban park and boulevard. (second year) (7) Providing the suggestions for promoting urban greening for government.
