    Abstract: 本申請案界定為兩年期的研究計劃，打算以兩年的時間，深入探討我國製造業的生產效率。第一年的研究主題，將採用Hansen (1999) 提出的門檻迴歸方法（threshold regression methods），分析我國製造業的生產力與效率。鑑於研究與發展支出，是支持製造業廠商技術進步的主要原動力，愈重視研發的廠商，投入愈多研發經費，應能快速提升生產力與效率。故若使用單一生產函數代表所有廠商的生產技術，並不恰當。如果依據各廠商研發支出進行分類，對應不同類別廠商，有不同的生產函數，應能大幅提高代表性，進而利用這些生產函數計算的生產力與效率值，才有參考價值。本門檻迴歸模型的特色，一為建構在縱橫資料（panel data）模型上，故可以使用蘊含豐富資訊的縱橫資料，進行研究。二為門檻值的判定，完全由資料決定，而非研究者主觀認定。第二年的研究主軸，將採用Battese et al. (2004) 發展的共同生產邊界函數（metafrontier production function），分析相同產業的生產力與效率。本方法的特點，亦在於可將樣本廠商分成不同群組，隸屬不同群組的廠商，擁有不同生產技術。換言之，不同群組廠商擁有不同的生產函數。一旦估計得到不同群組的生產函數後，可以進一步估計不同群組間的技術差異。本模型亦可使用縱橫資料，唯在分群方面，必須由研究者根據例如地區（國家）別或廠商規模等因素，予以分類，才能進行後續分析。
