    Abstract: 在顧客需求多樣、產品生命週期逐漸縮短之現今環境下，新產品開發已躍升為企業競爭力的重要來源之一。再加上產品成本的大部份決定於新產品開發階段，因此若欲獲得較多利潤與提昇競爭力，則應於新產品開發階段就要對成本加以適切管理；此對面臨產業結構從傳統的製造導向轉為以強調研發、技術為導向之轉型期的我國而言，更趨重要，將攸關國家未來長期發展。伴隨新產品開發階段成本管理之日益重要，也意含會計人員可發揮的功能與應從事之作業重點可能會有所改變；此對產業界及會計教育界而言，都是一個影響深遠之重要議題。然而至目前為止，具體探討新產品開發階段之成本管理或會計人員在該階段所應從事作業的研究並不多，以我國企業為對象或將其進一步結合考量策略者更是缺乏。隨著新產品開發階段之日趨重要，實有必要對此多加重視。本計畫之目的即以我國企業為對象，採取大規模問卷調查方法，探討新產品開發階段之成本管理以及會計人員在該階段所應從事之作業，並研究其與經營策略及導入目標成本制與否間的關係。而為力求問卷適切與完善，除蒐集彙整相關文獻與資料外，並擬實地訪談代表企業相關人員及進行預試。同時透過文獻彙整、實地訪談及大規模問卷調查，嘗試建構出較完整且真實反映我國企業新產品開發階段之成本管理及會計人員應從事作業與經營策略、導入目標成本制與否間關係的架構，並提出建議，俾補充相關理論探討及供我國企業及教育界參考應用，以助其提昇價值與競爭力。
