Disasters have been part of the human experience and are considered as one of major challenges to our society. Communication researchers pay great attention to media use in disasters, not only because media account for social convergence, but also media evolution occur in such processes. This proposal focuses on the new media emerging disasters. The researchers will analyze archive data abstracted from the emerging media channels in Typhoon Morak (2009). The data and research insights will be applied to set up quick response research methods for future researchers.
