    Abstract: 本計畫旨在了解1990 年以後台灣電影產業面貌,探討台灣電影工業在新電影之後所面臨之困境。研究目標將以解嚴後,政治開放、全球化經濟環境改變,以及媒體匯流趨勢為背景,探討電影生產過程的變化,並藉以理解此時台灣電影在美學形式與社會發展脈絡上的意義。研究過程,首先將蒐集1990-2010 年間,台灣電影產業與相關社會經濟變遷資料。資料範圍含括台灣社會經濟變遷(人口、經濟力、教育與文化、媒介經濟)基本統計資料,以及台灣電影生產、發行與映演等各環節之重要資訊。同時,蒐集當時期,台灣政治環境、社會環境、電影政策、全球化與亞洲意識現象、華語電影的影響等資訊;並與此期間,台灣本土電影、新一代導演之創作形式、創作內容、電影作者風格、全球化與亞洲電影語言的塑成,進行交叉分析,以多角度理解台灣電影在解嚴後的政治、社會與媒介經濟條件下,所呈現的美學意義。本計畫所蒐錄之九種社會與電影主要產經資料,以及據以編製之分析圖表,除作為本文研究論據外,並亦公開於「台灣電影資料庫」http://cinema.nccu.edu.tw (1949—2003);以便利相關研究參考,並延續該資料庫之完整性與使用價值。
    This research aims to draw a picture of Taiwan cinema after the lifting of the martial law. In order to review Taiwan cinema from every dimensions, the political history of the 90’s and the decade after millennium will be layout as the background, while the film industry economy will stand in front. The aesthetics of films and how they reflect Taiwan society will then be fully discussed in such a sphere. To achieve this purpose, this project will gather film industrial data (including film production, distribution and screening) and the social/economic information related to film media (e.g. population structure, consuming power and behaviors, rising of the new media and related social concerns and public collective desire and fear for martial law lifting) during 1990 and 2010. Films and directors of the post Taiwan New Cinema will then be reviewed. Findings of this research will be publicized on an internet film database: http;//cinema.nccu.edu.tw.
