    Abstract: 本計劃為98年度研究計劃的"關注紋理結構的裝飾紋路生成技術"之後續研究計劃。希望延續發展靜態的紋路生成技術,反應出時間序列的特徵變化,藉以產生動態的紋路。傳統的裝飾紋路,如獸面紋和雲紋,是經過工匠藝術家將其對於自然的變化與鳥獸的形態加以抽象化,形成具有象徵意義的紋路,藉由這些精妙的花紋傳遞豐富的訊息。這些紋路通常是以靜態方式裝飾物體表面,但是隨著現在顯示技術的進步,各式的投影裝置使得在任意的表面上顯示動態的影像變成可能,這也引發我們去思考,當傳統的裝飾紋路萬一"動"了起來會呈現什麼樣的風貌。本研究希望透過研究分析傳統的裝飾紋路,發展出與輸入影像紋路結構相關的生成演算法,並且延伸紋路的生成的規則,使得裝飾紋路的生成不再限於靜態的表現,而能反應出動態的變化,藉以增益裝飾紋路的應用。本計劃的研究內容主要可分為三大重點: 1. 設計裝飾紋路基本的生成規則與排列特性,使其具備動態的生成變化。 2. 分析靜態的裝飾紋路,藉由其紋路的變化與生成的規則,整合運動錯覺的顏色組合和排列法,使靜態的紋路具備移動的視覺錯覺。 3. 研究分析影片(或是動態的向量場資訊)的特徵變化,因應隨時間不同的結構變化,產生連續且平順變化的裝飾紋路,並設計控制動態紋路的方法與界面。
    In this proposal, we try to extend the texture-aware static pattern generation technique to generate a dynamic pattern sequence. Therefore, the dynamic pattern can reflect the variance in the time domain. The traditional ornamental pattern -- the Taotie and cloud patterns -- are created by abstraction and stylization from the observation of animals and the variation of cloud by artist. These patterns are not only aesthetic but also meaningful. The advance of display technique make us can project video on arbitrary surface, and inspire us to image and design the dynamic Taotie and cloud patterns. In this project, we try to conclude the rule of dynamic pattern generation, and analyze the feature in time domain, then transfer the time-vary feature into a dynamic ornamental pattern sequence. In this proposal, we conclude three key research aspects: 1. Develop the generation and placement rule of dynamic ornamental pattern. 2. Integrate the motion illusion technique into pattern generation; make the static pattern can evoke the motion illusion. 3. Analyze the time-vary feature from video, develop the control method to generate dynamic ornamental pattern.
