    Abstract: 本研究計畫，將以計畫主持人目前在（1）歐洲近代初期十六到十八世紀，對於「警察」（Policey）與「警察學」（Policeywissenschaft）的研究、（2）對於日治時期台灣警察形象的分析、以及特別是（3）對於傅柯生命政治（Bio-Politik）與治理性（Gouvernementalität）的探討等成果為基礎，進一步追溯台灣日治時期的殖民警察措置，它在思想成形與轉折上的具體軌跡。透過此一考察，本研究計畫所要反思的問題，在於：我們自己所身處的法律秩序，它究竟是在何種特殊的歷程中，逐漸形成目前的風貌。
