    Description: 台日雙方對釣魚台列嶼領土主權之爭端，因釣魚台傳統漁場和經濟海域重疊而衍生之捕漁權糾紛，造成台灣漁船動輒遭日方無理扣押和罰款，嚴重損害漁民生計和人身安全，表面看來為兩國捕漁權糾紛，但背後之主因乃是爭奪釣魚台列嶼主權。 近年來，日本政府和民間右翼團體動作連連，在釣魚台島上建燈塔，片面宣佈二百海浬專屬經濟區(ExclusiveEconomicZone,EEZ)，向南延伸到台灣東部外海，距離花蓮陸地最近僅二十餘海浬，距台灣最近的與那國島和宜蘭蘇澳沿岸相距僅六十海浬，與台灣專屬經濟區大幅重疊，水產廳和海上防衛廳之巡洋艦等亦加強在釣魚台實行其所謂之領海及經濟海域巡邏。日本對付台灣並非無層次者：日本海上保安廳在釣魚台週遭十二海浬範圍內，以噴油漆、水柱、驅離、扣留等行動，防止國人登陸釣魚台；日本水產廳，以巡洋艦驅趕、扣留在釣魚台附近從事捕撈作業之我國漁民漁船。
