In the age of Internet communication, it is still difficult for the mass media to overcome the "knowledge gap". Is it time to revise the "knowledge gap theory" which is dependent on traditional media? This article reviews the original theory and analyzes the factors of "knowledge gap" in Internet communication, including access , users and technology. The author suggests two focal points to the revision of the theory: raising the relationship between people and knowledge, and adding the global viewpoint. This article attempts to make changes to the original theory and outlines a revised version that can be applied to the study of Internet communication.
