    Abstract: 透過對沉默螺旋理論的內容與跨文化下的發展，了解其在地適用性問題。分析原始理論之假設定位、形成要件和測量方式，一方面了解其理論內涵與研究操作問題，另方面更透過各種跨文化下之研究問題，找出在台灣適用性之可能。研究分析發現，須回歸到鉅觀角度使用該理論，才能以適當研究在地性問題。在操作上之首要關鍵在於議題選擇，爭議性問題比選舉議題更適合台灣脈絡。並在變項操作中更須進一步探討台灣本地特別的文化意涵。
