Abstract:	This study samples research papers in the top SSCI financial journals from the year 2000 to 2008 and conducts a multi-faceted analysis of academic performance of finance field in Greater China. The aims of this study include: (1) Explore comparatively advantageous category of financial research in Greater China; (2) Provide an assessment of the latent capacity for financial research and the scope for future development; (3) Render an understanding of the research communities in the financial field; (4) Compare universities in Greater China with international benchmarks, providing the information of corresponding academic positions in finance among representative universities.
