    Abstract: 本計畫旨在產製具品質的環境科學新聞，內容將特別聚焦於自然災難、氣候變遷、環境生態等領域的事件與議題。透過環境科學、傳播學與國際事務等領域的學者及新聞工作者的共同協作，本計畫將了解如何在台灣社會的脈絡下產製具可讀性、正確性的環境科學新聞。具體的實踐策略上，本計畫將以國際知名的通訊社(如路透社、法新社等)作為主要的新聞素材來源，另參考國際科學傳播網站及非營利組織的資料，進行即時而深入的環境科學新聞編譯，以及環境科學新知彙編。同時本計畫也將藉由跨領域的學者和優秀的新聞工作者，組織各種協作平台，針對五大環境議題，規劃執行五項專題報導系列。本計畫強調，藉由學者與優秀的新聞實務工作者共同建立一個跨領域的協作平台，不僅能夠產製有品質的環境科學新聞，更能夠促進跨領域的科學傳播知識和實務經驗之積累。
    This project is aimed at producing high quality environmental/ scientific news with specific focus on issues and events in global natural disasters, climate change, and environmental problems. Through the collaboration between scholars of environmental science, communications, international affairs, and working journalists, the project intends to realize the goal of publicizing and popularizing accurate environmental/scientific news within Taiwan’s unique social context. By establishing partnerships with leading news agencies (such as Reuters and Agence France-Presse) and collaborating with internationally well-known non-profit organizations and websites run by environmental foundations, we plan to reproduce timely, informative, and high-quality international news or reports. At the same time this project will formulate a cooperative platform which is helpful to deliberate the essence of environmental/scientific news. The short-term goal is to re-produce high quality and accurate environmental/scientific news, and in the long run the project hopes to facilitate the delivery of information/knowledge based upon inter-disciplinary efforts.
