    Abstract: 自從Herbert simon建立人工智慧學門，並將其引用到經濟學的研究以來，人工智慧方法一直就是經濟學中對人的行為在古典理性之外的另一種假設，特別是從七○年代的組織理論，到八○年代的賽局理論再到九○年代的總體經濟學，人工智慧一直就在「有限理性」(Bounded rationality)這個方塊中扮演著很活潑的角色。然而，這個趨勢到了九○年代又因為幾方面學術的進展，顯得更加重要。第一，是實驗方法及心理學方法在經濟模型中的大量使用，並促使實驗經濟學、行為財務學學門的具體成形。第二、實驗室所觀察到的經濟行為又被進一步的在與日俱增的高速能計算中被模擬、驗證、與分析，形成了以代理人為主的計算經濟學(Agent-based computational economics)。第三，則是結合了生物、物理、腦神經學、資訊科學、認知科學、複雜系統等多學門所發展出來的計算智慧(Computational intelligence)已替代原先依賴數理邏輯為主的古典符號AI成為人工智慧中的顯學。在這樣一個多元發展的學術環境下，人工智慧或計算智慧，對二十一世紀的經濟學(含財務)的研究將會提供什麼樣的機會，產生什麼樣的影響，以及可以運用的資源有多少，是一個值得在研究大方略上去思索與規劃的問題，而這分好奇正是促使我們寫這本導論的動力。
