    Abstract: 本研究目的在於探討都市人口規模與都市熱島效應間之關係。運用汽車移動觀測法,於2002~2003年間對於台南地區14個鄉鎮市(人口數:23000~740000人)之都市熱島現象進行為期一年的逐月量測解析。並且根據都市人口與都市熱島強度回歸分析結果,結合國內其他文獻研究數據(薑善鑫等,1995;林憲德等,1999),與外國文獻資料(Oke, 1973;Landsberg, 1981;Lee,1993;Fllklloka, 1983)進行不同氣候條件之都市熱島強度比較分析。比較結果顯示:由於高濕度與低人工發散熱之關係,台灣之都市熱島強度明顯低於其他溫帶地區國家,並與日本小型都市趨勢相近。此外,依據本研究結果顯示,若將都市計畫人口設定小於10萬人,將可以有效降低過大的都市熱島效應,並有效節約都市空調系統耗電量,以達到降低都市耗能的目標。
    This paper demonstrates the relationship existing between the population of village, town or city, and the magnitude of the Urban Heat Island it produces. Series of air temperature of 14 neighboring cities in Tainan, whose populations range from 23,000 to 740,000 inhabitants, were measured by automobile traverse in a cloudless and windless midnight in every month during 20022003. The regression correlation line between Urban Heat Island Intensities and populations is compared with previously published data in other climates, such as in Europe by Oke (1973), North America by Landsberg (1981), Korea by Lee (1993), Japan by Fukuoka (1983), and Taiwan by Shan-Hsin Chiang (1995) and by Lin& Lee (1999). It proved that the Urban Heat Island Intensities in hot and humid climate areas are very small compared to the other researches in temperate climates, it is probably because of the higher humidity and lower anthropogenic. Furthermore, according to the result of this study, it could prevent large Urban Heat Island Intensity and reduce more air-conditioning energy, if the urban populations are controlled fewer than
