    Title: 美國與移民原生國貿易對移民薪資的影響

    Abstract: 移民有許多和原生國的連結,包括原生國的文化、人脈和語言等,而移民在對原生國的貿易中是否享有優勢是本文欲探求的重點之一。本研究採用1990、2000年美國普查的資料,以及2005年至2011年American Community Survey (ACS)的資料。
    首先,探討移民在雙邊貿易中所扮演的角色,使用WISERTrade資料庫美國50州第一、二級產業對原生國的出口資料。Gravity模型實證結果顯示:當地移民的人數越多,會導致當地對原生國的貿易量上升,而且移民因為對原生國有較多了解可以減少雙邊貿易成本。
    接著,本文討論出口量對第一、二代移民薪資的影響。發現樣本所屬地區同產業對原生國出口量增加1%,移民薪資會增加0.022%,因為移民對原生國有較多的連結而從中受益。再進一步探討,不同教育程度的移民薪資受貿易量的影響大小,實證結果為:教育程度較高者從貿易中受的益處較大。對第一代移民而言,分國家進行討論時,亞洲地區移民的薪資受出口量的影響比中南美洲移民還大,而不同語言程度對於移民受到出口量的影響程度沒有太大的差異,但是,東亞地區的移民擁有雙語能力更能在雙邊貿易中受益。對第二代移民而言,不同原生國家對移民薪資受貿易的影響差異不大,然而,僅說英文者在貿易中的受益最大。另外,本文實證發現,當移民原生國家的經濟發展快速時,對移民薪資會有正向的影響。
