    Abstract: 學校心理輔導工作者一般要扮演三個核心角色:咨詢、預防和發展。每一個角色的重要性都隨著過去發展的時空而有些改變,但是不可否認的是,這三者都清楚地說明了學校心理輔導工作者的定位。咨詢(counseling)是對學生個人或團體進行咨詢工作,是協助他們解決各種問題。例如,危機干預(crisisintervention)是協助學生解決他的突發危急事件。而預防(prevention)角色是試圖預測、減低,甚至防止學生未來可能發生的困難,因此,預防角色著眼于所謂的“心理教育”,目的在于阻止問題或事件的發生或持續惡化。
