    Abstract: Gaga一詞,是瞭解泰雅族的重要關鍵。自日治時期以來,民族/人類學者紛紛從社會團體、組織等角度探討gaga的意義,而晚近除了有泰雅族學者指出gaga其實就是一切習慣、規範的總合,亦有學者以gaga的多義性及其作為「觀念實踐的過程」,探討泰雅族的社會性質。為促成進一步跨文化對話的可能,本文從空間的角度,思考gaga之生成、存在與變化。在回顧歷來文獻對gaga的詮釋之後,本文以馬里光(Mrqwang)流域泰雅部落的經驗為核心,分別從1)人群的遷移與擴散、2)人地關係、3)在不同政經條件下的調適,討論其中所展現之gaga的空間性,並指出gaga流動與穿越的本質,以及其在當代社會所面臨的挑戰。
