    Title: 宗教與文學的交涉---眾神載體神魔小說

    Abstract: 本計劃將集中研究明神宗萬曆間出版的十九部神魔小說，而且以仙傳型為主，暫時 排除個人創作意識較高的續書。筆者認為，神魔小說不是宗教文學。雖然神魔小說以神 魔為主角，結局為神魔主角修成正果，所以是個別的出身修行，也必須完成濟度世間的 重責大任。但是不能視神魔小說為宗教文學，否則難以與善書、靈驗記、神仙高道傳區分。神 魔小說的確反映甚至生產明朝前後的宗教信仰，但是問題不只是讀者從其中汲取甚麼宗教知 識，更包含讀者辨識、重組甚麼樣的宗教知識？即明清讀者從神魔小說中發現何種「魔境」，其 中又反映何種當代的宗教心態？為尋求上述答案，本計畫將從通俗文學與大眾文化的交涉 入手，期望有助我們了解文學與宗教複雜的互動過程。 本計畫從文學與宗教交涉的角度來研究神魔小說：（一）釐清其中的諸神關係及其 架構，比照現今宗教研究的成果，觀察其地域差異、神格轉化。（二）分析神魔小說中 神魔精怪成道的描述，對照經傳，以了解文學與宗教文類之異同與轉化。（三）從小說 的輯成、刊刻、禁制等，勾勒其市場範圍以及販賣機制。（四）從寶卷宣讀、度脫劇、 地方戲曲、雜劇、俗曲中，尋找與神魔小說的文本情節、主角人物重疊的痕跡，驗證神 魔小說多元化的閱聽途徑。（五）根據神魔小說與宗教交涉的情況，嘗試解釋此一文類 的容受性。
