Abstract:	八十八年九月二十一日凌晨一時四十七分,芮氏規模七.三之强烈地震,襲擊台灣中部地區。導致死者二、四六八人,重傷者一、二三人;住屋全倒者四五、八八三戶,半倒者三三、二六戶。自來水、電力等民生維生系統以及道路、橋樑、學校等各項公共建設嚴重損壞,且因斷層之活動,產生地層變動、大規模土地位移之現象。災情之慘重,為台灣百年以來所僅見。
