    Title: 九輩班禪額爾德尼與中央政府關係之研究

    Abstract: 　　　在政教合一制度下，達賴喇嘛與班禪喇嘛雖是西藏地方兩大宗教領袖，但達賴喇嘛一直是西藏的領導中心，且一般而言，班禪喇嘛不涉政治，而第九輩班禪喇嘛，卻因緣際會，在清末第十三輩達賴喇嘛二次出亡，清廷下令革除達賴喇嘛名號時，由第九輩班禪喇嘛暫攝達賴喇嘛職務，使第九輩班禪喇嘛乃扮演了制衡達賴喇嘛的重要角色；之後，更由於第九輩班禪喇嘛與第十三輩達賴喇嘛二者失和，九輩班禪喇嘛乃於民國十二年(1923)率屬下僧俗官員從藏北羌塘越唐古拉山輾轉到內地，從此開始了長達十四年之久的內地生活，且終其一生沒有再回到西藏，即使圓寂後，其靈櫬也歷經波折才得以回藏。
    　　第九輩班禪喇嘛之離藏北上，在近代西藏歷史上是一重大事件，綜觀其一生，與中央政府實具有密切關係，對中藏關係的發展亦有其重要意義，本文即以此為探討重點。全文分五章，第一章除先簡述研究動機與目的外，並對所使用的文獻加以介紹，同時釐清文中若干易混淆的名詞；第二章則從西藏的政教合一制度，分析班禪喇嘛在西藏社會所扮演的角色，並從經濟、宗教及政治等各個觀點探討班禪喇嘛在西藏社會的地位；第三章由中藏間政教相互利用之沿革，剖析清末九輩班禪喇嘛與中央政府的關係，及辛亥革命後，在時代的變革中九輩班禪喇嘛與中央政府的關係究有怎樣的發展及轉變，並述及外國勢力對九輩班禪喇嘛之拉攏；第四章則針對九輩班禪喇嘛在內地時期與中央政府之互動關係，九輩班禪喇嘛終其一生未能回到西藏之困難，及其間外國勢力介入之情形，與中央政府對此事所持之態度等，都在本章中予以分析探討；第五章結論，除對本研究主題作整體總評析外，並探究是否影響及日後中共對班禪喇嘛的態度，及其對西藏的政策。
